We knew there was a good chance of snow overnight and it had been snowing off and on yesterday afternoon. However, it was still a surprise to see it when I looked out the window.
Everything was covered with a light blanket of snow.
I had to keep telling myself it was May, not the middle of winter. We knew we had to get out to explore.
Just outside the campground, the valley was covered in snow, so pretty.
The baby bison was hunkered down with his mother. When we came back a couple of hours later, the snow had melted and the buffalo were all up moving around.
We went out to one of the geyser basins, the boardwalk was dusted with snow.
There was snow around the paint pot and on the trees.
Like I said before, it was all gone in a couple of hours. For us, it was probably the best of both worlds. We got to experience snow, but not for a long period of time.
Beautiful! Isn't it much more fun staying in the park?
