Today was the first day the road from Yellowstone to Grand Teton National Park would be open. It was also supposed to go to the low 70's with the sun shining. We were on our way!
We probably hadn't gone more than a mile when we saw this trumpeter swan and had to get a picture.
Snow covered the mountains around Yellowstone Lake.
A herd of elk grazed nearby.
As we came to Lewis Lake, we couldn't believe it was still partially frozen. It was so neat to see.
We got our first look at the Grand Teton mountain range.
We were here in 2012, but the fires were so thick, that the smoke would cover the mountains that you could not even see them.
The weather was absolutely perfect. We were able to see the reflection of the mountains in the water.
The views around Jenny Lake weren't too bad either.
It was time to make the return trip back. We leave Yellowstone tomorrow, but it has been a wonderful stay!
