Kayaking the South Llano River

The two major things here at South Llano River State Park are the birds and the South Llano River. Today, we decided to kayak part of the S. Llano River. The water is lower than usual, so we weren't sure how the two of us would do together in the Sea Eagle 370. When we had come to the park before, we each had our own hard sided kayaks.

We dropped the car off at Boone's Crossing and proceeded with the truck to the third crossing to put in the kayak.

We were able to float down most of the river. There were some times Jim had to get out and pull the kayak through, but not too many times. It was a quiet, peaceful float. We were the only ones on the river.

We stopped to have lunch, then proceeded through the high banks.

It was a great afternoon!

  1. Did you see any water moccasins? We saw two swimming in the river in a five-minute span one afternoon.
