Atomic Testing Museum & A Little Jimmy Buffett

We began our day where "Only In Vegas" you can get an all you can eat breakfast buffet with drink for $4.99.

After filling up on lots of yummy food, we headed over to the

The National Atomic Testing Museum presents history of the development and testing of the nuclear bomb.

The Nevada Testing Site is only about 70 miles from Vegas.

We began with this exhibit of atomic merchandise made in the 50's and 60's.

There were films and exhibits that all told about the nuclear testing and bombs.  Being kids in the 60's, it was all very interesting.

There was a 10 minute movie in what looked like an underground bomb shelter that told about the nuclear testing and the people who helped and took part in it.

This was a simulation of a bomb shelter along with a tv commercial about when you see the "bright light flash" to duck and cover.

We ended out tour with our picture with Robbie the Robot.

About 6:00, Greg and Jan came by to pick us up and we headed to Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville in The Flamingo.

The first thing I saw was this giant airplane hanging from the ceiling,

then, the "lost shaker of salt".

We had a great meal and lots of fun watching everything going on in the restaurant.

There were people on stilts walking around making balloon figures, singing and dancing.

There was even a girl that slid down the volcano, landed in a cocktail, then was pulled out by a fishing hook.

After our dinner, we headed over to the Bellagio Hotel to watch the fountain.  We got our spots along the lake and watched three different shows.

On our way out we watched another one standing on the streetside.  It is truly mesmerizing to see the blend of water, light, and music and the sounds of the water cannons is also awesome.  It's truly a show not to be missed!
