Watson Lake

As nice as it has been to sit still for awhile, we have to get moving again. We still have a long way to go.

The road followed Liard River most of the way.

We stopped at several of the overlooks.  There were rapids

and more views of the wide river.

We saw four bears today, but only got a picture of one.  This black bear crossed the highway in front of us and then stopped in the grass.  We pulled over to watch it.

We also saw two bison, this one was just laying in the dirt near the side of the road.

Our destination was Watson Lake, home of the Sign Post Forest.  People all over the world leave signs with their names and where they live attached to posts throughout the park.

It's pretty amazing to see the variety of signs.

We also stopped at the Visitor's Center and received a wealth of information for our travels.

We walked across the street to the Northern Lights Center.  Jim stopped to pose in front of this mural outside the center.

We watched a very informative film on the universe and then the Northern Lights.  The films were presented on a rounded planetarium ceiling where you could get the full effects of what the Northern Lights are like.
Tonight, we are staying at a campground with full hookups.  It's kind of nice to have electricity
again. :)
