We have been at the Whistler Campground in Jasper, Alberta the last four days. There were lots of sights to see.
Maligne Canyon
complete with waterfalls
Medicine Lake, water from the lake disappears into crevices at the bottom leaving the lake a mudfield in September
We saw a bear on the side of the road on our way back to Banff from Lake Louise, but were going to fast and could not stop for pictures. This time on our way to Maligne Lake this bear was feasting on dandelions on the side of the road and was oblivious to the crowd gathered around him. We saw another bear just a little while later, but it was on the other side of the road and we couldn't get a picture.
By the time we made it to Maligne Lake, the clouds were blocking the sun.
We also visited Athabasca Waterfalls. The forcefulness of the water was something to behold.
Here's another view from the brink of the falls as the water begins to fall down.
Sunwapta Falls
Another vista view, you just don't get tired of stopping
At our campground we spied this mama elk with her fawn. They ended up coming next to our campsite so we watched them for quite awhile.
More lakes, this is Patricia Lake
and Prism Lake.
We stopped to admire this bull elk who was munching on the grass. It looks like his antlers are growing out well. You could see the velvet on them.
Our last drive was the drive up Mount Edith Cavell with this view at the top.
This was taken where the trail begins. It was a beautiful day, but we weren't up for this hike.
We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Canadian Rockies!
Glad you are enjoying the Canadian wilderness as much as we enjoy the views of the US southern states.

It's about time.
I still remember when my mom and dad came back from their first trip to the Icefields Parkway. All my mom kept saying was, "No matter which way you point your camera, you will have a spectacular photo." When we went, I saw exactly what she was talking about. Glad you're having the same experience.
