Tryin' To Chill In the Texas Hill Country

We are on Day 22 with no front air conditioning. :(  Camping World replaced the part that was not working thinking it would fix our problem.  The furnace and bedroom air conditioners were working, but the main air conditioner and heat pump only blew air.  It was determined the compressor was no longer working and we needed a new air conditioner.  We waited to see when the air conditioner could be delivered.  It should be sent out Monday or Tuesday AFTER EASTER.  We couldn't believe it, apparently, they have to be manufactured for the rv.  It doesn't make a whole lot of sense to us, but we don't have a whole lot of options.

So...there hasn't been a whole lot to blog about.  We canceled our trip to Big Bend, with temperatures already in the 90's there, we knew we couldn't be comfortable without the main air conditioner.  We went back to the Thousand Trails at Medina Lake and stayed there for the rest of our 14 days.  Our plan at Thousand Trails allows for us to stay 2 weeks at a location, but then we have to leave for 7 days.  We went to Hidden Valley RV Resort in Bandera. It's actually 9 miles from Bandera, so we are really out in the country.

It is a pretty little place.  Some of the reviews in RV Park Reviews said the spaces are too close together.  They are close, but there are only 2 other rvs out here besides us, so it doesn't really matter.

Our hill country view outside the front door.

There's an open field in the middle of the park, the wildflowers are blooming.

This is our spot.

We'll be here until Wednesday and then we will move back to the Thousand Trails and hope the air conditioner comes in next week.  We decided not to move too far since we have already signed up for the RV-Dreams Rally in Kerrville on April 24.
