Air Force Academy

We had a leisurely morning just enjoying visiting with each other and relaxing.

We decided to go to the Air Force Academy in the afternoon.  We arrived at the South Gate and found out that we would have to go to the North Gate since we did not have a military i.d.

We drove about 10 more miles arriving at the North Gate, drove through after our car trunk was checked and Jim showed his driver's license.  We arrived at the Visitor's Center and went in to see the displays.  Next, we followed the hiking trail to the chapel.

While following the trail, we saw this Black-billed Magpie.

Then, this fox walked right by us and back into the woods.
The new freshman class also ran by us reciting part of the regulations they were memorizing.

We arrived at the overlook to see the chapel just down the hill.

Inside, it was just as magnificent as the outside, with a giant pipe organ in the back and stained glass windows throughout the sides and ceiling.

We left and ate dinner at Culver's in Colorado Springs and headed back to the rv park for their weekly Ice Cream Social.  Another great day!
