Our daughter, Lisa, and granddaughter, Karli, arrived safely on Tuesday. They drove from Austin and were ready to stop. We were so happy to see them since it had been over two months since we left Texas. They are staying here at the park with us for the next 10 days. The first 2 nights they will stay with us in the rv. Then, they will stay in a rental rv for the next 6 days that is right next to us.
Because of the recent fire, all fireworks, public and private were cancelled. So, we decided to go to the North Pole in Cascade just north of Colorado Springs.
You can see a little bit of the fire scar at the top of the mountains, but everything was still beautiful. We took our kids here 30 years ago, so it was fun to return with our daughter and granddaughter.
The park had just reopened on Monday, so on a day when the crowds are usually pretty crazy here, there was a much smaller turnout. We could get on any of the rides with virtually no waiting.
There were plenty of rides.
Rides to make you dizzy
Rides to take you high in the sky
A giant slide
And even a train that goes through the park.
We had a great time and are looking forward to the days ahead!
