Floating Around In Lake Abiquiu

This morning, there was virtually no wind, so we decided it would be a good time to put in the Sea Eagle Fold Cat into Lake Abiquiu.

The water was calm, the sky was blue, and there was no wind.  Jim got the Fold Cat loaded into the pickup and we took off to the boat ramp about a mile away.  We forgot our life jackets so we had to go back and get them.

It took us about 45 minutes to get the boat set up, but once we were out on the water it was worth it!

We went along the lake, by the dam and around towards the back where there are some little alcoves.

This is the mesa we can see out our back window.

We were going around these towering rock walls when we heard a loud bang.  We didn't see the rocks fall, but there was a cloud of dust coming from where they fell.

As we returned, the red mountains were in the background.

It was a good day on the water.  Tomorrow, we are planning on kayaking the Rio Chama.
